If you’ve been eyeing all the cute, personalized Crocs popping up on Pinterest and TikTok lately, you're not alone! Whether you're heading to the garden, the grocery store, or just chilling at home, Crocs and clogs are the comfy canvas just waiting to be customized. And the best part? You can create your own one-of-a-kind look with just a few simple craft supplies!
In today’s DIY, we’re adding a little extra to our favorite garden shoes using colorful craft beads, charms, acrylic chain, and some stringing wire or elastic cord. It’s easy, fun, and totally customizable — the perfect weekend project for adults or a great bonding activity with kids.
Supplies You’ll Need:
-
Assorted craft beads (think alphabet beads, pony beads, faux pearls, etc.)
-
Cute charms (flowers, fruits, butterflies, whatever suits your vibe!)
-
Acrylic chain (lightweight and colorful)
-
Stringing wire or elastic cord
-
Small scissors or wire cutters
-
Optional: Jump rings and pliers for attaching charms
1. Plan Your Design
Before you start stringing, lay out your beads and charms to visualize your design. You can go symmetrical, mix patterns, or spell out fun words with alphabet beads — whatever makes you smile!
2. Measure and Cut Your Cord
Wrap your stringing wire or elastic cord around the strap or hole area of your Crocs to get an idea of how long your decoration needs to be. Cut a little extra length to make tying or fastening easier.
3. String the Beads
Now for the fun part — start threading your beads and charms onto your cord. Alternate bead sizes for visual interest, or group charms in the center for a statement look.
If you’re using charms with jump rings, you can attach them directly to the acrylic chain or even clip them onto your cord once it's in place.
4. Attach Your Creation
Once your string is fully beaded, tie or wrap it around the strap or insert it through the holes of your Crocs. If you’re using acrylic chain, weave it through the strap or attach it with jump rings for a more secure fit.
Pro Tip: If you’re decorating garden clogs without holes, you can still wrap your creations around the top edge or strap for a glam accent.
5. Customize and Repeat!
Make a matching pair or mix it up — you can create multiple removable “bracelets” for your Crocs and switch them out depending on your mood or outfit.
